Small businesses in the UK are missing out on substantial savings by not switching their utilities bills over to new providers, according to one report.
Switching service uSwitch has claimed that small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are often facing financial difficulties with bills because they are not using strategies to cut costs, such as looking around for cheaper bills.
The firm admitted that businesses cannot swap bills quite as easily as consumers as it is "more complex", but Tim Wolfenden, head of home services for uSwitch, claimed that the savings made can be worth it.
He estimated that a company which had never made an active decision to switch gas or electricity bills could make savings of up to 50 per cent.
And businesses looking to save cash on their phone bills could consider the Vonage range of fixed phone lines and mobile deals.
While most telephone companies charge extra for premium features such as call waiting and caller display, with Vonage's
internet phones these features come as standard.
