Broadband 'helping homeworkers'

Broadband 'helping homeworkers'High-speed broadband services are helping many people to work from home, according to Work Wise UK.

Phil Flaxton, chief executive of the non-profit organisation, has stated that broadband services are particularly useful for those who are struggling to get back in to the job market.

"There are people who are perhaps carers or people with disabilities who would like to get back into the work pool but find it difficult to do," he states.

Recent advances in the reliability and coverage of broadband services mean that a growing number of people are finding they can get back to work using their residential internet connections.

A recent study carried out by BT has found that there are around two million home-based businesses throughout the UK.

Work Wise claims that home-working can deliver impressive increases in productivity, as well as providing benefits for health and wellbeing.

Vonage offers a VoIP service that is tailored to the needs of home-based businesses, with the V-Plan 4 available for just £12.76 a month excluding VAT.ADNFCR-1208-ID-18480261-ADNFCR
