VoIP 'can revolutionise communications practices'

VoIP 'can revolutionise communications practices'Voice over internet protocol (VoIP) should be used to "revolutionise" a company's communication practices, according to a small business portal.

According to Bytestart, making calls over a broadband connection can save on telecoms costs. In fact, calls between VoIP phones should be free.

Furthermore, calls made to 01 and 02 numbers are also likely to be much cheaper, which will help save a business cut down on its running costs, it said.

"By using a VoIP phone you can make phone calls through your broadband connection rather than down the voice line. And that brings a huge cost advantage," Bytestart states on its website.

"The best known VoIP provider is Skype, but for business Vonage is considered better and allows you to use a normal phone."

Business owners are also reminded that a fast broadband connection can also save money when it comes to software as open source applications can be downloaded without charge.

InfoCom has predicted that the number of VoIP subscriptions in western Europe will reach almost 88 million by 2012.

Businesses and homes hoping to make the most of the VoIP deals available need look no further than Vonage for competitive offerings.

Unlike traditional fixed telephone line providers, VoIP provider Vonage has four simple plans to choose from so selecting the right one couldn't be easier.
