A new study has found that O2 has entered a list of the five best-performing broadband providers for the first time.
The mobile telecoms company was found to be the third fastest provider in the Epitero study, which looked at various determining factors contributing to the overall speed of a broadband service.
A spokesperson for Epitero stated that O2 had taken first place in the ping test, which determines average server response times.
While managing director Gavin Johns stated that a fast ping rate is particularly useful for online gaming, having a fast, stable connection may also useful for other internet communications services such as
VoIP.
He also stated the customers are "demanding faultless performance from their service providers", with many people becoming increasingly tech-savvy when choosing their provider.
A recent report by Valista has found that with people becoming more informed with regards to technology, providers need to supply a more comprehensive range of services.
Vonage encourages customers to take advantage of their broadband connection by using
