The growth in broadband penetration is helping to improve the take-up of
VoIP products, an expert has claimed.
A trend that is particularly prevalent among
VoIP for business, it has seen the number of firms that take advantage of the technology grow, said a spokesperson for the Internet Telephony Service Providers Association (Itspa).
Itspa represents the service providers and network operators who offer such services to both business and residential customers.
Eli Katz, the chairman of the organisation, commented: "In terms of subscribers utilising VoIP-centric services, we're looking at about over 200,000 by the end of this year."
The broadband penetration among businesses is now "very high", he said, noting that
VoIP equipment is riding on this wave.
Technology Means Business recently advised small businesses that "substantial cost savings" could be obtained through the use of emerging technologies such as VoIP.
