Commissioner denies 'disagreement in network plans'

Commissioner denies 'disagreement in network plans'The European Union (EU) telecoms commissioner Viviane Reding has denied that there are factions in the European commission regarding plans to split up the big companies.

Her comments came after the EU competition commissioner Neelie Kroes earlier this week was rumoured to have attacked the plans to separate operators' networks and services to allow competitors to enter the fray, reports Forbes.com.

"As for functional separation, the European Regulators Group (ERG) is unanimous on functional separation and nobody can ignore this presentation of 27 regulators and 27 different countries," she commented.

Recently, the ERG stated that functional separation of networks in the EU would be a good thing.

At present there are good deals available to consumers, such as those on offer at Vonage. A better telephone service for less is possible because of a low cost, monthly fee that generates unlimited calling to the UK and around the world.

Calls can be made with the Vonage V-Plan 2 to 15 countries.ADNFCR-1208-ID-18308712-ADNFCR
