The Association of British Travel Agents has said that UK holidaymakers who go abroad are consistently seeking one of two things: sun or snow.

While winter is inevitably the most popular time for sporting enthusiasts to travel to colder climates in search of glistening slopes, more and more Brits are also seeking out warm climates to lift their winter blues.

City breaks tend to be less popular during this time of the year, meanwhile, but regardless of the destination, technology experts note that people who travel abroad regularly have to most to gain from internet telephony solutions.

Steve Weller, head of communications services at uSwitch recently said that VoIP is a "great way to save money on calling abroad" and he encouraged regular travellers to do their research in order to unearth the best deals.
