An industry publication has claimed that around three in five UK businesses now use the internet for their telecoms needs, reports Zycko.com
However, the report states that internet video conferencing is still a growth area.
The report by analyst Data Integration found that, in total, 59 per cent of businesses use
VoIP technology, while 32 per cent use video communication services.
Around 43 per cent of those interviewed said that they were not convinced that video IP systems would be useful to their company.
However, the study found that overall satisfaction with both technologies was very high, with 88 per cent of respondents stating that they were happy with their company's
VoIP system.
The report follows a recent prediction by an industry analyst that 2008 will see businesses balancing the costs of high-speed technologies with their communications needs.
Tony Cooper, a Deloitte spokesperson, said that firms this year will "question far more aggressively the business case for speed," according to CBMagazine.
