Car insurance tweaks 'cost consumers'

Car insurance tweaks 'cost consumers'Following a number of reports on the rising costs of living due to energy price hikes and increased food costs, price comparison service uSwitch has revealed that car insurance providers are levying as much as £333 million from UK drivers.

In recently published research, the firm finds that on average, consumers are paying an additional £22 pounds a year on their policies to cover the costs of requesting duplicate copies of documentation and making amendments to their contracts.

Resultantly, the site is calling for increased regulation to make sure providers deliver a transparent service with no hidden costs.

Ashton Berkhauer, insurance expert at uSwitch comments: "Consumers need to know where they stand and the easiest way to do this is for the amount providers charge to be consistent across the insurance industry."

The firm has also recently suggested that further utility bill increases could cost the average UK consumer an additional £105 annually.

Vonage is committed to providing its users with clear and cost-effective broadband phone services, with the V-Plan 1 available for just £5.99 per month.
