VoIP for business can see firms operate with improved organisation and efficiency, a major industry figure has claimed.
Maren Bennette, the leader of the Unified Communications Forum of the Communications Management Association (CMA), lauded the positive potential of the telephony option.
A major part of VoIP's ability to have a positive impact is the simple fact that "
VoIP services will save money", the expert noted, before highlighting the growth of such services in the modern business sphere.
"[VoIP] has the potential to improve organisational effectiveness and thus improve business or organisational performance," added Mr Bennette.
The CMA is an independent organisation designed to enable professionals to discuss and take advantage of advances in communications technology.
Recent research from illume consulting found that Centrex-style
VoIP usage has seen a 50 per cent growth in the UK over the last three months, a trend that is expected to continue.
