Some businesses may not yet be ready to make a full transition to Voice over Internet Protocol (
VoIP) services, but they should not miss out on reaping some of its benefits, an industry analyst has announced.
Writing on PCWorld, Kathryn Vercillo has stated that one of the greatest benefits to business is the ability to stream real-time audio and video conferences over an internet connection.
"This allows businesses to hold virtual conferences which bring together clients, on-site and remote employees to create an interactive platform for exchanging ideas and furthering business," she states.
She advises that there are certain products that allow similar productivity for businesses not yet ready to make a full commitment to
VoIP, however she does argue that
VoIP is one of the best technologies for video streaming.
VoIP is also becoming widely used for cheap call solutions among businesses and households.
It follows recent comments that more and more residential broadband users are also turning to video streaming software, often to watch videos and TV shows over their internet connection.
Vonage offers a competitive
business VoIP service as well as a number of packages like
V-Plan 1 for home users, which allows unlimited free calls throughout the UK for £5.99 a month.
