Business demand for VoIP 'to grow'

Business demand for VoIP 'to grow'The popularity of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) among residential and retail users is forcing businesses to consider adopting the service, according to an industry analyst.

Duncan Wilkinson, channel sales director at Thus, argues that 2008 will see business VoIP take off in the UK market.

Previously, he argues, businesses have been reluctant to switch due to concerns over quality of service and a lack of awareness of the benefits of switching to VoIP products.

A growing number of businesses are realising the benefits of using VoIP to make cheap calls.

Mr Wilkinson also argues that the overall VoIP market is buoyant and that despite economic turmoil, VoIP makes business sense at a time when firms are looking to streamline services and cut costs.

The news follows a recent announcement by IPCortex that the VoIP market is reaching maturity and is capable of providing robust business solutions.

Vonage offers business call plans that are tailored to the needs of small businesses and homeworkers, with the business V-Plan 4 available for just £12.75 per month ex vat.
