VoIP reduces 'exorbitant costs'

VoIP reduces 'exorbitant costs'VoIP is proving an effective way to reduce the "exorbitant costs" associated with long-distance calling, according to one industry publication.

TMCnet claims that a growing number of customers are turning to VoIP solutions to reduce their telephone bills - and are reaping the benefits of new functionality in the process.

Furthermore, the publication states that "these solutions are easy to implement and integrate - a fact that makes them all the more valuable".

It also claims that VoIP can be useful to internet service providers in that it allows suppliers to improve call centre facilities to provide better customer services.

A recent study by Harris interactive has found that consciousness of VoIP services is growing, with 51 per cent of respondents to the survey having made an internet phone call in the past nine months.

Vonage offers a V-Plan 3 package that is tailored to those making a high number of international calls. It includes unlimited talk-time to 25 countries for just £9.99 a month.
