Around 17,000 Brits are estimated to own a home in the country at the moment but Paul Collins, property editor of overseas property advice website BuyAssociation, predicts that it will become more popular among buyers in the year to come.

"There are some great opportunities and some places that are significantly cheaper than anything youll find in Cyprus or Greece or further west in the Mediterranean, such as in Spain or Portugal," he explained.
Mr Collins also highlighted the construction of a new airport on the south coast and an increasing number of low-cost flights on offer as two positive signs for the market, commenting: "Those are things that are all going to help improve peoples access to the country."
