'Strong demand' for high-speed broadband

'Strong demand' for high-speed broadbandThere is strong demand for 20Mbps broadband services in the UK according to a recently released poll.

ISPReview.co.uk found that 79.4 per cent of respondents to the survey believed that consumers wanted the high-speed internet services - which could handle video, audio and VoIP traffic easily.

Just over ten per cent felt that there was not currently significant demand for 20Mbps in the UK, while a further ten per cent were unsure whether people wanted the services or not.

"The result suggests that internet service providers who fail to keep pace with the latest technologies risk being left behind as customers seek to migrate onto faster alternatives," the firm commented.

Some 50 per cent of respondents also said that they planned to upgrade to 20Mbps broadband when it becomes available.

The results of ISP Review's March user poll found that 32.8 per cent of broadband users download more than 40GB per month, while only 2.9 per cent used less than 1GB.

Vonage allows customers to make cheap calls using broadband phone services, with the V-Plan 2 well-suited to those looking to make savings on international calls.
