Levels of satisfaction with telecoms companies are at the lowest since 2006, according to newly published research.
Price comparison site uSwitch has found that of all UK providers, BT customers are most unhappy with levels of service.
In the largest UK consumer satisfaction survey, it was revealed that while consumers spend over £5 billion on their home telephones, 10 million people are unhappy with the levels of service they receive.
Telecoms giant BT came last in the survey for the first time, coming last in nine out 11 categories measuring customer satisfaction.
Tim Wolfenden, head of home services at uSwitch, comments: "Many loyal home phone customers are now finding themselves paying more for a service which, they believe, has declined."
Customers who are unhappy with phone services are being advised to switch to take advantage of a better deal.
The firm also recently released the results of its broadband satisfaction poll, which showed that PlusNet was the best performer, while Orange was found to be the worst.
